For those who don't know and are interested in knowing - 

According to the Chinese calendar, Sunday February 10^th will be the beginning of a Chinese new year, the Year of Snakes! The traditional Spring Festivals start from that day and last for five days.

The Chinese calendar is based on the moon movement with full moon being the middle of each month. A normal Chinese year consists of 354 days in 12 months. The differences with western Gegorian year are accumulated in a precise way so every few years there will be a moving duplicated month - say you may have two Aprils, August, etc. (to be exact 7 duplicated months out of 19 years)

The Chinese New Year is typically in the late of January or early February.

The big advantage of the calendar is its application in agriculture as it provides accurate information to farmers on when they should plant and when they should harvest etc.

Something of a little interesting:  there are groups of superstitious people who use the calendar for fortune prediction purpose.  Believe or not ，some of the conclusions were quite amazing – don’t count on that ! Don’t say I have not warned youJ.

按照中国的农历，2013年2月10号星期天，将是新年蛇年的第一天！传统的春节从星期天开始要持续五天。

中国的农历是根据月亮的运动制定的，以每月中旬为满月。正常中国年有12个月354天。它与西方所用的回归年的差异，是通过精确计算，采用每间隔几年增加闰月的办法解决的，也就是说您可能碰到有两个四月或两个八月的情况等等（准确的说是十九年七闰）。

中国的春节通常是在一月底或二月初。

中国农历的一大优势是其在农业中的应用。因为它会准确的告诉农民，什么时候他们应该种植，什么时候他们应该收获等等。

有一个有趣的现象：在迷信的人群中，有使用农历算命的。相信不相信由你，有些结果是相当惊人的 - 不要指望它！不要说我没有警告过你。J
