Today when I posted this article, we learned Steve Jobs has resigned as chief executive officer of Apple. The reason is presumably health-related—Jobs went on indefinite medical leave in January—but neither Jobs nor Apple gave specifics in their statements. Tim Cook, Apple's chief operating officer, will replace Jobs as CEO, while Jobs will serve as chairman.
