罂粟花开放在佛兰德战场
在十字墓碑间，一行又一行，
那是我们长眠的地方；
空中的云雀还在勇敢地歌唱，
稀弱的歌声淹没于枪炮的声响。

我们死了。就在几天前我们
还活着，感受黎明与落日，
爱与被爱，而现在
我们已躺在了佛兰德战场。

继续与敌人战斗吧，

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, saw dawn, felt sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up your quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.

注：每年的11月11日是阵亡将士纪念日，或称休战日。
这首诗是参加一战佛兰德战场战斗的加拿大少校医师John McCrae(后为陆军中校)在战友葬礼之后写的。自1915年发表以后，每逢11月11日，加拿大人都朗诵这首著名的诗来纪念一战和二战阵亡的将士们。
