【注】1869年建成的美景城堡融合了哥特式和罗马式风格，矗立于海龟池畔的远景岩露头之上，因原本用于测量中央公园的风速和风向，1983年翻修后又被称作“领袖·光明”自然天文台(Henry Luce Nature Observatory)。

美景城堡下的海龟池里常年栖息着红耳龟、鳄龟、锦龟、麝香龟和闭壳龟等五种海龟，每次我经过这里，经常见到的是耳朵周围长有红色斑点的红耳龟。近年来，中央公园一直设法降低水中磷含量，避免导致由此引发的有害藻华泛乱，以保障海龟的生态环境。
