梳洗罷，獨依望江樓。過盡千帆都不是，斜暉脈脈水悠悠，腸斷白苹洲。

With her hair washed and combed,

She herself looks at the river from the second story.

So many sailboats already passed,

She sees no sign of her lover’s homecoming glory.

The sunrays cast a slanting lukewarm glow,

The broad river is still in its continuous flow.

The island is covered with white flowers in bloom.

Each and all are displayed in their utter gloom.
