一柱香

 
一陣騷動哪裡來？
是空墳還是處女娘胎？1
聖約瑟想到世界將消解，
但他喜歡自己的指頭領略的情采。2
 
1 空墳，指《聖經》記載的耶穌復活後留下空墳。
2 此處可以解讀為性愛撫（foreplay）的一種形式，詩人筆下的聖約瑟想象自己是耶穌的親生父親。

《三王朝拜》（The Adoration of the Magi），意大利畫家波提切利（Sandro Botticelli，1445－1510）作。東方三博士在伯利恆城中一所舊屋找到剛剛誕生的耶穌，並呈送預備好的禮物。

Now as at all times I can see in the mind's eye,
In their stiff, painted clothes, the pale unsatisfied ones
Appear and disappear in the blue depths of the sky
With all their ancient faces like rain-beaten stones,
And all their helms of silver hovering side by side,

Being by Calvary's turbulence unsatisfied,

觀物常以心眼，眼前走來三賢，
身披緊身彩袍，沮喪神色黯然，
若現若隱雲海里，藍天邊，
古銅臉，好像石頭常遭風雨鞭，
銀色舵柄轉，好像鳥盤旋，
睜大眼睛凝視，期待再次發現――
髑髏地，亂糟糟，世事難遂願，
馬槽邊，說不定神跡就在眼前。
