有幾日閒暇，整理詩詞文字之玩，撿出這一於2019年在校友群的討論，即以實例佐證（本人理解的）十四行詩該如何漢譯 - 

The New Colossus

Emma Lazarus, 1849 - 1887

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand

Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she

With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

Rhyme pattern:  1221, 1221, 343, 434

1不似希臘名塑攜帶青銅鐫銘，

2張開徵服的臂膀跨越毗連的土地；

3在碧海漾波的落日金輝之門豎峙

4一位偉岸女性高擎火炬，它的光明

5突破禁錮的閃電，她的英名

6放逐者之母。從她火炬之臂

7燃起遍布世界的歡迎；她的溫和目光期冀

8遙空連接的港口構建雙子城式的鑲拼。

9“惟守望，曠古的土地，和你們曾經的傳說！” 她的音泣

10伴隨沉寂的唇。“給我倦累，貧困，

11擁擠不堪但嚮往自由呼吸，

12那眾多人們，被悲慘地拒絕登岸允准。

13將這些，無家可歸的，被暴風雨顛簸的驚魂，向我聚集，

14在金色之門巔我高高舉燈召引！”

漢譯應同樣以四韻部分別在同樣句位上押韻，以為真正意義上的十四行詩。

目前所見紙面或網頁各譯，僅為傳達英詩文意，未睹在詩的漢韻上合轍者。
