我對這十四行詩的理解：

第1句：主語絕對不是creatures， 而是 we；increase在 desire 之後是虛擬語氣的用法，可以不用to 。我們向花神要求增加的是什麼？ 下一句看當然是 rose。所以通篇是寫玫瑰的。我讀了兩種譯法，實在不敢苟同。於是產生自己翻譯一遍的想法。

   我對這十四行詩的翻譯

-----願花仙多賜生薔薇玫瑰，

-----要使美人不至永殉星河。

-----可是花開難免還要花落，

-----紮根總能生出嬌枝嫩葉。

-----人們只看見美人的亮眼，

-----像燃着能量自足的焰火。

-----地處豐腴你卻忍飢挨餓，

-----與己為敵殘忍自我折磨。

-----成裝扮世界的藝術之品，      

-----你是唯一的盛春的使者。

-----能以報春唯有繁花似錦，

-----脆弱未熟會被浪費揮霍，

-----憐憫這個世界且記勿貪，

-----只取己份不然下場如魔。
