“About nine-in-ten U.S. adults see China’s power and influence as a threat”, according to a recent Pew poll taken during the pandemic.(1) Clearly, Beijing’s information warfare has backfired, but that won't stop its ongoing campaign against America. In an underhanded manner, Beijing is now trying to drive a racial wedge between Chinese Americans and their fellow citizens. So, while persecuting minorities back home, the CCP is not ashamed to play up the race card abroad.
Beijing needs U.S. pollsters to conduct skewed surveys portraying Chinese Americans as victims of systemic racism. Would Pew or Gallup end up in Beijing’s pocket? Not a chance. Pew and Gallup are reputable polling organizations. They can’t afford to lose the free world’s vote of confidence in their independence. By the way, foreign agents are required to register with the U.S. Department of Justice(2), thus being subject to public scrutiny. No polling agent of Beijing can face up to public scrutiny in an open society.
Defending our open society is an informed public, which is on the side of the oppressed as a matter of principle. We have good reason to say this: China is not a threat to America. China’s regime is.
