Combating the Great Depression, Franklin D. Roosevelt gave his fellow countrymen the New Deal. In peacetime, the New Deal failed to make much economic headway. It was the Second World War which had truly turned America around while making room for the military-industrial complex.
Admittedly, the military-industrial complex is not exactly a godsend, as reminded by Dwight D. Eisenhower on the last day of his two-term presidency. But, compared to the Green New Deal, the military-industrial complex is a lesser evil. Why? Because the Green New Deal is all about state control over everyone and everything in the name of saving the world from Climate Change. It could and would reduce America to a green banana republic. Speaking of which, the green elites are already arrogant enough to pursue their high-sounding agenda on their fossil-fueled jets. They--like Lenin and his ilk--really enjoy commanding useful idiots from above.
