Q: Is this Wiki article (above) credible? A: yeah, mostly. Ayman Nour has been imprisoned for YEARS since then.. Q: why? do you think it was a fair election? A: it was never a fair election .. from the very first one .. they locked him up for challenging Mubarak for presidency ..took care of some paper work and he was locked for YEARS! Q: do you support Muslim Brotherhood group? A: nop, I don't. and they're not as bad as the media coverage portrays them .. Q: In what sense not as bad? A: the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt are mostly peaceful (there a few extremist like every other party in every other country of course) .. but they are a well-established organization that provide help to the poor, schools, etc. .. nothing to do with terrorizing people Mubarak used them to play it smart .. he exaggerated EVERYTHING they do.. and they even stick stuff to them they didn't do (and obviously kill them in police stations).. then he gives the US two options: me? or them? they always go for Mubarak - that's what they call stability .. he did the same thing inside Egypt .. the me-or-them game .. Mubarak is over .. what kind of president releases 7000+ criminals, pays them money and gives them machine guns, to terrorize and kill his own people.. after his orders to make the police kill them failed! Q: So if it were a fair play, in any of the previous elections, who would have won? A: no one had a chance .. they killed off any opposition before it even started .. Ayman Nour was the first in years, that's why he was locked Q: if another guy comes into power, who is not pro U.S, but against, does it hurt anything? A: not at all, we have nothing against the US (other than still supporting Mubarak now of course) but no, we NEVER had anything against the US .. Q: so if Mubarak is out, another guy takes over, there won't be any risk for the extremists rising up? i wonder why US backed up Mubarak so much in the past A: no, the ppl won't let the MB take over .. even the Muslim Brotherhood themselves announced they won't take part in the new govt ..they're not even contributing to the uprising as a party, they're taking part as individuals of the people .. US backed up Mubarak coz he scared them of the MB, he pictured them as violent extremist and that if they take over, it will be another extension of Al Qaeda and will damage the US .. they got scared and backed him up (and still are) .. this is absolutely not true .. I'm not with the Muslim Brotherhood, and I have my points against them .. but they are nothing like what the media and Mubarak pictures .. Q: but Mubarak is an elected president after all, do you think it is fair to demand a "legal" president to leave any time when some people choose so, why not wait for the next election in Sept.? A: he wasn't elected .. he cheated on all votes .. it's even recorded on video and there're documents to prove that ..therefore he is not "legal". they just cheated on the parliament elections a month ago .. what party in the world could get 219 seats out of 230? not to mention that the whole country HATES the national democratic party (Mubarak's) coz they're corrupt and did nothing for the country other than stealing it .. 最后我让他给写个总结陈述:以下是他的回答: · Your View on Mr. Mubarak A persistent dictator who’s been abusing the country for 30 years, and depriving his people of their basic rights and needs. What sort of president of a country of 80 million people that demand him to step down, refuses and hires thugs and secret police to shoot and hill his citizens? This is so corrupt! · Your View on Muslim_Brotherhood A group of Muslim fundamentalists that Mubarak and the media has portrayed as radical extremists, raising the fears of the US of their power if they take over, as well as between the Egyptians, as a part of Mubarak’s scheme of “me, or the Muslim Brotherhood?”. They started peacefully as a well-established structure that helps the Egyptian society, however politics dragged them into fierce wars. In the recent events, they became more open and decided not to take part in the uprising as a party, but as Egyptian individuals, and that they will not run for any positions in the next cabinet. The majority of the Muslim Egyptians like myself, prefer having a liberal Muslim society, but that does not mean that the members of the Muslim Brotherhood area ideally terrorists or will start wars against the world, as much people think. · Your View on the past elections Parliament: Illegitimate, and that is one main reason for the uprising. The National Democratic Party (Mubarak’s ruling party) cheated and took over almost all of the seats in the parliament, leaving no seats for any opposition parties. Presidency: Mubarak has eliminated all opposition, leaving no one to run against him. He even made changes to the constitution that guarantees him staying longer then he should, by adding terms that apply to him and make it harder for anyone to run against him. Not to mention that the election itself was illegitimate. · What role will Religion play in politics if Mubarak steps down. We’ll become a liberal society similar to Turkey, separating religion from politics. Religion is a practice, everyone has to the right to worship as they wish, and that should not affect politics in anyway. Even fearing that the Muslim Brotherhood will take over isn’t there (if they try), because all walks of the society will limit their power to do so. · Your View on the current event (approve/disapprove, to what extent) I approve the uprising of the Egyptians against Mubarak’s dictatorship and illegitimate regime. He and his party have deprived the citizens of their basic rights and needs, regardless of their age, gender or religion. The middle class has disappeared, the poor are getting poorer, and his companions are getting richer on the country’s expense, and that’s just the beginning of a huge list of reasons why the regime must go. I won’t go into freedom of speech, democracy, political reform, fair elections, social justice, and much more. · Your prediction of the outcome of this movement Mubarak and his regime will have to go. The people will form a committee to help the country during a transitional phase towards reform. The fear is that the longer Mubarak stays or delays stepping down, the more damage he makes and that will make it even harder to go through the reform. · Are you among the main stream of the Egyptians? do your views reflect what most Egyptians think? 以上为我们的全部对话,除了最基本的spell check,内容原封未动。由于时间有限,不想翻译了,大家凑合着看吧。本人无意对此文章的内容做任何政治解读,写出来仅为了供网友参考。Yes, of course. I’m from the same generation that started the uprising, and I know of their needs and demands. I am 23 years old, and Mubarak has ruled Egypt 7 years before I was born. However, I’m here to pass the voices and demands of people in Egypt dying and sacrificing their lives to free their country, and I give them my full support. We’re all starving for democracy and freedom. |
