What the author (吳主光) wrote about Peter Wagner and John Wimber was largely consistent with what I read about them, but with a clear and satirical twist.
We all know that not every ill is healed in any recorded history of divine healing. If we do a similar study on the supreme divine healer Jesus Christ, we would be surprised at finding that even Jesus did not heal as many people as he could have. For example, of all the lepers in Jesus time, Jesus healed just a small number, including ten at one occasion. In fact, Jesus himself bore an unhealed sickness according to Luke 4:23 in cross reference to a literal reading of Isaiah 53:4.
I also detect logical inconsistency in his reasong. For example, the author states with respect to the Fuller mission course MC510:
But then he says later with respect to Carol Wimber's experience:
So my question is: if the gift of spirit is freely given by the triune God, then we find Carol's experience entirely acceptable. If Paul's exhortation to desire for spiritual gift (especially the gift of prophecy in preference to speaking in tongue) is still valid today, then we find it hard to dismiss those who try to exercise and practice the gifts of the spirit. Without such exercise and practice, who would know one has the gift of healing and preaching, etc?
