使徒信經是整理自整本聖經的基督徒信仰宣告，是基督徒信仰的準繩，提到我們所信仰的對像三一真神以及祂榮耀的作為：創造，救贖與使祂的教會成聖。今天任何個人或教會要成長，強壯，復興，都不可能離開使徒信經所陳述的信仰根基。使徒信經的內容可以作為傳道人傳講和教導的主要根據，其教導不止可以堅固基督徒的信心，使我們可以有能力分辨異端，使我們不會隨着異教之風飄來飄去，使我們可以活出得勝的基督徒生活，也可以幫助教會在面對逼迫時能夠有信心靠主站立的穩。

使徒信經：

我信我主耶穌基督，上帝的獨生子；因着聖靈感孕，從童貞女馬利亞所生；在本丟彼拉多手下受難，被釘在十字架上，受死，埋葬；降在陰間；第三天從死里復活；他升天，坐在全能父上帝的右邊；將來必從那裡降臨，審判活人，死人。

我信聖靈；我信聖而公之教會；我信聖徒相通；我信罪得赦免；我信身體復活；我信永生。阿們！

使徒信經釋義（馬丁路德《基督徒小問答》對使徒信經的解釋）：

1）[第一條：我信上帝，全能的父，創造天地的主。 ]

聖父：創造

我信上帝造了我和萬物，賜了我身體，靈魂，耳目，百體，理智和官能，並仍然為我保守；祂也賜給我衣服，飲食，房屋，家庭，兒女，田地，牲畜和各樣美好的事物。祂也將凡為身體和生活上所需用的，每天豐豐富富地賞賜撫養我；並庇護保守我不受危險和兇惡。這一切全是出於祂為父為上帝的恩典感受，毫不是我的功勞，也不是我所配得的。因此我應該感恩，頌揚，侍奉和順服祂。這實在是真理。

聖子：救贖

我信耶穌基督是自太初從天父所生的真神，也是童女瑪利亞所生的真人，是我的主。祂不是用金銀，乃是用自己的聖寶血和無罪的受苦受死，從諸般罪惡，死亡和魔鬼的權勢中，釋放，救贖及得着了我這沉淪被棄絕的人；為要我全屬祂，在祂的國度里活着，在永遠的義，無罪和福氣中侍奉祂，正如祂從死亡中復活，永遠活着掌權一般。這實在是真理。

3）[第三條：我信聖靈；我信聖而公之教會；我信聖徒相通；我信罪得赦免；我信身體復活；我信永生。阿們！ ]

聖靈：成聖

我相信借着自己的理智或力量，不能信主耶穌基督，或親近祂；只是聖靈用福音宣召了我，用她的恩賜照亮了我。祂曾使我成聖，並在真正信仰上保存了我。正如祂召集，照亮普天下的基督教會，在唯一的真正信仰上保存教會，使教會與耶穌基督聯合和成聖一樣。在基督教會裡，祂每日多次地赦免我和眾信徒一切的罪，也要在末日叫我和凡死了的人都復活，並賜永生給我和凡在基督里的信徒。這實在是真理。

I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,

Of Creation：

I believe that God has made me and all creatures; that He has given me my body and soul, eyes, ears, and all my limbs, my reason, and all my senses, and still preserves them；in addition thereto, clothing and shoes, meat and drink, house and homestead, wife and children, fields, cattle, and all my goods；that He provides me richly and daily with all that I need to support this body and life, protects me from all danger, and guards me and preserves me from all evil；and all this out of pure, fatherly, divine goodness and mercy, without any merit or worthiness in me；for all which I owe it to Him to thank, praise, serve, and obey Him. This is most certainly true.

Of  Redemption：

I believe that Jesus Christ, true God, begotten of the Father from eternity, and also true man, born of the Virgin Mary, is my Lord, who has redeemed me, a lost and condemned creature, purchased and won “delivered” me from all sins, from death, and from the power of the devil, not with gold or silver, but with His holy, precious blood and with His innocent suffering and death, in order that I may be “wholly” His own, and live under Him in His kingdom, and serve Him in everlasting righteousness, innocence, and blessedness, even as He is risen from the dead, lives and reigns to all eternity. This is most certainly true.

3）[The Third Article：I believe in the Holy Ghost; one holy Christian Church, the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.]

Of Sanctification：

I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Ghost has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith; even as He calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies the whole Christian Church on earth, and keeps it with Jesus Christ in the one true faith; in which Christian Church He forgives daily and richly all sins to me and all believers, and at the last day will raise up me and all the dead, and will give to me and to all believers in Christ everlasting life. This is most certainly true.
