[kjv] And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
[bbe] And the Lord said, Am I to keep back from Abraham the knowledge of what I do;
18:18 [hgb] 亚伯拉罕必要成为强大的国、地上的万国都必因他得福。
[lzz] 亚伯拉罕一定成为又大又强盛之国；地上万国都必用他的名而给自己祝福。
[kjv] Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
[bbe] Seeing that Abraham will certainly become a great and strong nation, and his name will be used by all the nations of the earth as a blessing?
18:19 [hgb] 我眷顾他、为要叫他吩咐他的众子、和他的眷属、遵守我的道、秉公行义、使我所应许亚伯拉罕的话都成就了。
[lzz] 我和他知交，是要叫他吩咐他的子孙、和他以后的家属一直走我永恒主的道路，秉公行义，为要使永恒主指着亚伯拉罕所应许的话都归给他。」
[kjv] For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
[bbe] For I have made him mine so that he may give orders to his children and those of his line after him, to keep the ways of the Lord, to do what is good and right: so that the Lord may do to Abraham as he has said.
18:20 [hgb] 耶和华说、所多玛和蛾摩拉的罪恶甚重、声闻于我。
[lzz] 永恒主说∶「那攻击所多玛和蛾摩拉的嚷叫声很大，他们的罪恶极重；
[kjv] And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
[bbe] And the Lord said, Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is very great, and their sin is very evil,
18:21 [hgb] 我现在要下去、察看他们所行的、果然尽像那达到我耳中的声音一样么．若是不然、我也必知道。
[lzz] 我现在要下去，看看他们所行的是不是全像那喧嚷攻击声达到了我耳中的那么样。既或不然，我也会知道的。」
[kjv] I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
[bbe] I will go down now, and see if their acts are as bad as they seem from the outcry which has come to me; and if they are not, I will see.

神仍耐心地、公平地等待著，等待往昔的人，也等待著你我……
18:21　神给予所多玛城的人一个公平的测试。他并非漠视他们的恶行，只是耐心地、公平地给他们悔改的最后机会。现在，神仍在等候，赐人回转归向他的机会（参彼后3:9）。聪明的人会在神惩罚罪恶以前，就归向他。

坏消息（18：16－21）所多玛和蛾摩拉的毁灭
5. 访客起身前往所多玛，亚伯拉罕送了他们一程（18：16）。
耶和华因对亚伯拉罕的呼召（眷顾），就向他显明所要做的。
“我眷顾他，为要叫他吩咐他的众子和他的眷属，
遵守我的道，秉工行义，使我所应许亚伯拉罕的话
都成就了。”（18：19）

6. 而后神向亚伯拉罕宣告所多玛和蛾摩拉罪恶深重，上达天
庭。神自然知道二城的情形，却仍然以恩赐的态度派两名天
使去那里，为了向人证明那里人心的邪恶（18：20－21）。
神允许人犯罪是为了证明他的公义。然而亚伯拉罕一再质问
的正是神的公义（正义/信实），因为神已说过他不再会因人
的罪而施行象在洪水中所做的那样整体灭绝了（创8：21；9：
11，15）。
