I would say there are 4 teams that really have the best odds to win it all in July 2018 in Moscow:
Germany- The team has a ridiculous squad depth that has potential to win it all again. I mean, last year in the Confederations Cup, Germany played with their B-Team, a bunch of young stars with 24 year old Julian Draxler being the captain, and won the tournament. Imagine a mix of their best players from the A and B team for this summer. Scary and exhilarating thought, huh?
2. Brazil- In comparison to the Brazil that self-destructed as host nation in the 2014 World Cup, this Brazil is a very strong and potent team that can win it all, having almost and entirely different team. Led by PSG superstar Neymar, and a strong Midfield with Coutinho, Casemiro and Paulinho, Brazil can be a very intimidating team, and we may just see the jogo bonito that they had roughly from 2002–2006 again.
3. France- France has one of their finest squads coming into the World Cup, having depth that is similar to Germany. A notable example is the midfield. Pogba, Bakayoko and Kante are all phenomenal midfielders that can fill the same position of Center Midfielder. With the center-back pairs of Raphael Varane and Samuel Umtiti, it’ll be tough to get past them, and even more difficult to get past their captain and starting goalie, Hugo Lloris. The forwards are also lethal, having the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe, and Alexandre Lacazette, as well as Anthony Martial, Oliver Giroud and Ousmane Dembele as alternatives.
4. Spain- Spain’s failure in the last World Cup was attributed to mainly two things: The rely on old players and the continued use of Tiki-Taka when everyone knew how to stop it by then. Now, Spain has a new coach, Julen Lopetegui as well as new players that are continued starters. David de Gea in the Net proves that he is very talented to be the starting Goalie, despite having such a late start, Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique still prove they are worthy to be the starting Center-Backs for Spain, with two versatile full-backs, Jordi Alba and Dani Carvajal, that can cross the ball well into the box. The midfield is very dominated by the likes of Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets, with the option of Isco and David Silva being able to swap positions to play either as a midfielder, winger or false-9. The attack can see the likes of Alvaro Morata being the starting #7 of the team, along the likes of young superstar Marco Asensio working alongside with him. Not to mention, there are talented players on the bench such as Nacho (who can make up any losses in the defense with his great work ethic), Koke (excellent midfielder that can pass very accurately), Saul (very fast and pacy midfielder/winger that can give a defender a run for their money), Thiago (A very talented midfielder that can pinpoint passes) and Lucas Vazquez (Who can play very well as a winger that can play either on the left or right).
