Sour grapes would complain about it but he did not break any rules.

Lendl was too full of himself and it cost him :-)

That he *really, really* wanted to win and was willing to do almost
anything.

Never had a problem with his tactics, probably because it was comical
when Lendl asked the umpire if he could do that (stand so close to the
line to receive). And then the underhand serve, a riot.

But the funniest thing was the fact he got away with it and won the
match.

I'm usually willing to cut the smaller players some slack with regard to
underhanded behavior vis-a-vis the bigger players, just to help equalize
things.

Especially if it's funny.

I'm ambivalent about those back-leaps Radwanska pulled on Sharapova's
serve late in their recent match at the USO, since they were plainly
violations of the rules (and the chair should've called her on it), but
OTOH Sharapova should've just served hard and low into her body every time
she did that, instead of getting (apparently) rattled by it.

Then again, Maria was having a hard time even finding the service box, so
maybe that level of accuracy was out for the match.
