In my two leagues to draft so far (where passing TDs also are worth 6), Manning has gone 6/8, and Palmer at 17/18.

Well, if you let him go by, the guy with LT will grab him and probably be LT, Palmer, and some other high quality player.

Depending on where you pick, if it is a snake draft, you could roll the dice and try to get him in the third, but a lot of guys wouldn't let him get around the bend between 2-3 round.

If you really, really want Palmer, yes, you need to use your 2nd rounder on him.
