top two challenges in scientific research
1. to invent sth useful 2. to beat sth paradoxical the paradox of constant & max speed of the light is actually extremely simple to beat. go back those equations and study carefully and derive literatlly, i mean, the lorenz's linear tranform. you will find: the speed of light actually is arbitrary!!! it can be any number! and with a fixed prescribed number, other things can adjust accordingly. for simplicity, just define the speed of light to be a constant, and this makes tranformation much simpler! i am a person with mechanical engeering background and applied math background, and figured out this underlying trick instantly when i took an electrodynamics class with physics graduates. somehow, according to my observations, physics majors are kind of too adoreful to big names and do not have sufficient knowledge in other fields (because of the depth and broadness of physics, they are too busy with it). for me, it's extremely simple and easy to figure it out. what is the essence & significance of einstein's special relativity??? it provides a method (or mathematical artifact) to handle coordinates tranformation AND retardation, with extreme simplicity and elegance. so, it's a great achievement. however, please, the world, please don't worship einstein. he was a human being, and not the god! he made a huge mistake: he was against probability and quantum mechanics!!! he was so wrongk !!!! so, don't elevate his theory of special relativity to something that builds our physical world, and say stupid things like "time is relative" |
