昏教授的大名，在海外大凡關心中國科學尤其是生物科學並常上中文網的多會有
所知。昏教授的幾篇關於中國生命科學的雄文，（比如：中國的科技發展不能被
自然雜誌等牽着鼻子走）在網上廣為流傳，昏教授自敘的一些事跡成就，很多人
都不陌生。昏教授在網上污言穢語，也是名人軼事，真正的牛人，哪個是“乖孩
子”？網上擁尊其為“昏老”的聲音經常從由一群身在海外卻日夜渴望回歸祖國
的學子們創辦的“虹橋科教論壇”里傳出。遙望虹橋的眾多昏粉絲，有時不得不
讓人感到那是何等一個藏龍臥虎之地。誰是昏教授？有好事者根據教授的IP地址，
把在紐約地區的中國留美精英一個個過濾下來，也毫無頭緒，於是有人誣衊說昏
教授吹牛，說不定是個在唐人街打工的，如此一來，更增加了昏教授的神秘風采。
2005夏末的一場姓昏大水，不僅把美國沖的昏頭轉向，一不小心，竟也把牛氣沖
天的昏教授，不知從哪裡也給沖了出來：原來昏教授就是2005年中科院候選院士
肖傳國教授！ 2004年，肖傳國教授到他曾經大罵的中科院上海神經所給talk.
神經所的慣例是把所有演講者的簡歷在網上公布，這樣我們有幸瞻仰到肖傳國教
授的一生業績，看了之後，我有十個沒想到：
1． 肖/昏教授多年在網上透露關於自己的信息，起碼有50％以上，是真實的。
比如八十年代公費留學英美。九十年代初即在美國東部某校任教，國內諸多叫人
看了昏眩的光彩頭銜等等。我原以為多是昏老吹牛，沒想到是真的！
2． 肖/昏教授是72－75年湖醫的工農兵學員，資格之老，沒想到！
3． 肖/昏教授真是NYU的副教授，一個最高學歷是碩士的工農兵學員，不用讀博，
不用博後，到美國僅兩年，就成助理教授，後來居然還成了NYU的副教授，而且
不是陳曉寧那樣ADJUNCT的副教授！雖說英雄不問出身，留美學子，能如此牛B的，
還真沒想到！
4． 肖/昏教授同時擁有美國NIH一個2百50萬美元的RO1 和中國973項目2千5百萬
人民幣，數量之巨，豈止是武漢協和首富，就說是中國科學家首富也不為過，留
美學子，除了吳征，大概無人能比，牛B！ 沒想到！
5． 肖/昏教授的簡歷把正式文章，會議摘要，武醫校刊和著書全列一塊，如此
不規範，出自一個美國副教授之手，本人第一次看到，沒想到！
6． 肖/昏教授從七十年代初從事科研以來，凡二十五六年，三分之一時間睡行
軍床，共發正式英文文章5篇，平均每五年一篇，每篇價值一百萬美元，加摘要，
會議摘要，武醫校刊和著書一塊，凡二十五六，平均每年一篇，這樣精產昂貴的
首席科學家，本人第一次看到，沒想到！
7． 至2004年止，肖/昏教授是所有正式文章，會議摘要，武醫校刊和著書的第
一作者，這樣的首席副教授，沒想到！
8． 肖/昏教授透露自己帶的兩個博士生已經成了教授，沒有第一作者文章的博
士生，卻當上了教授，牛！ 沒想到！
9． 網上的肖教授，批饒毅，批神經所，指點中國生命科學研究的江山，牛B轟
轟，現在知道肖教授並沒有受過現代分子生物學的系統訓練。網上的肖教授時常
污言穢語，現在知道，現實生活中的肖傳國教授，品行端正，相片上也是一表人
才。反差之大，沒想到！
10． 肖/昏教授居然成了今年中科院院士候選人，沒想到！肖/昏教授居然有今
天，沒想到！
後記：估計昏教授要和我們在網上永別了。想起昏教授在網上曾經的紅火歲月，
令人懷念。本人支持肖傳國教授以科學勞模的身份當選院士。中國的科技發展和
中國院士的鼻子可以被Jack Lapides大獎被NIH的百萬美元被秘尿學雜誌牽着走，
但是中國的科技發展絕不能被自然雜誌等牽着鼻子走。
