Three o’clock.
Morning stars yawn as night grows old.
Street lamps cast shadows on frozen ground.
Wind howls a muffled hiss as it hits the windshield.
A thick blanket of darkness lingers.
No tail lights in sight.
A familiar destination becomes obscured,
As it stretches in infinite cold night.
Over silhouettes of trees and landscape,
Lifelessness beats like a drum.
Crispy wind finally cracks,
As it whispers to the empty roads.
In the deafening silence,
A sweet, feeble but definitive voice rises:
“Don’t let obscurity blur your vision,
You, your rabbit and monkey.”
Stars fade as daybreak draws near.
Everything gives way to dawn.
Light caresses fantastic details of life.
Life! I see a rainbow afar.
