萬籟靜無念，但見白雲飄，平湖如鏡，

Naught moves but clouds, and in the glassy lake

舟影輕蕩共雲搖。

Their doubles and the shadow of my boat.

劃破沉沉炎曙，

The boat itself stirs only when I break

驅散絲絲寂寞，極目入林梢：

This drowse of heat and solitude afloat

歸鳥或纖芥，

To prove if what I see be bird or mote

睡意幾時消？

Or learn if yet the shore woods be awake.

曉天白，明霞染，碧空高，

Long hours since dawn grew, - spread, - and passed on high

撒落湖畔，葦間涼氣聚難銷，

And deep below, - I have watched the cool reads hung

映入悠悠雲水，

Over images more cool in imaged sky:

忘卻紛紛物我，沙漏滴悄悄，

Nothing there was worth thinking of so long;

臥聽斑鳩語，

All that the ring-doves say, far leaves among,

詩意滿青霄。

Brims my mind with content thus still to lie.
