From the hills all flying birds has vanished,
From all paths trace of people diminished ,
On the only boat in the snowing river so cold,
Lonely fishing an old fellow, with grass hat and grass coat.
蒋捷《虞美人-听雨》《Listen to the rain》
Listen to the rain up in the club when I was young,
To our bed curtain the red candle shed lights on.
Listen to it in the Ferry when being middle-aged.
While the lone goose crying over
Freezing wind, endless river and the drooping cloud.
Still listening to rain now under a temple house,
Already snowy are my earlocks,
No Longer I care about the joy and sorrow,
Despite at stairs all till dawn
The rain drops and drops so.
试以骚体译叶芝《WHEN YOU ARE OLD》《当你老去》
When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down thi-s book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;
And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid hi-s face amid a crowd of stars.
试以古风译叶芝《Down by the Salley Gardens》《柳园街上》
Down by the salley gardens my love and I did meet;
She passed the salley gardens with little snow-white feet.
She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
But I, being young and foolish, with her did not agree.
In a field by the river my love and I did stand,
And on my leaning shoulder she placed her snow-white hand.
She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs;
But I was young and foolish, and now am full of tears.
