当你年老，鬓斑，睡意正浓
炉旁打盹，请取诗书这一本
慢慢细读：梦回你柔意双眸
曾经脉脉，浓荫重重含情深；
多少人爱你欢畅优雅的闪光瞬间
爱慕你的美丽，不论假意或心真；
但唯有一人爱你朝圣的灵魂
爱你渐衰的脸上愁苦的风痕；
那人垂身低头在炽红的炉边
忧伤地低诉那爱神如何逃遁：
它漫步信走于高高的群山巅，
把脸躲藏在一群星星的中间。

注：在壁炉前垂身的，我的理解并非如很多人认为的是女主角，而是叶芝本人的幻影：在诗篇被读时，幻化出来，便细细地诉说，那爱是如何逃遁的。。。

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
