關於神秘主義，林慈信牧師是這樣說的：

神秘主義乃是指不用理性、超越理性，不用感情、超越感性，只用直覺，直接去跟耶穌、父神交通。

奧秘乃是經過我們的理性去思考真理，也用感情去回應，把意志降服下來，委身給主。經過這些之後，還有一些是我們不明白的，就叫奧秘。

基督徒的信仰一定有奧秘，但是我們不要作神秘主義者。

這首詩歌怎麼樣形容基督徒與耶穌的關係？不只是詩歌好不好聽，活潑不活潑，押韻押得好不好？究竟這首詩歌在講什麼？

第二節說 More of His saving fullness see。

我們這幾天在講“在基督里”，在“約”里，也就是說神所為我們設計的，我們與神的關係。

在基督里有很豐富的恩典：罪得赦免，得稱為義、做神的兒女、得救的確據、清潔的良心、主永遠的同在、患難的時候祂與我們同行等等；未來的盼望，祂是王，祂坐在寶座上很榮耀。

這裡說，More of His saving fullness see，更深體會救恩完備。

當你唱到這裡，救恩完備，你只是想到我的罪得赦免，得永生嗎？還是有其他這些？聖靈是使我們與基督聯結的（The Holy Spirit unite us with Jesus Christ），聖靈是那位把我們放在“在基督里”的那位。

那麼，“在基督里”有什麼東西？各種各樣的恩典。

第二節，More about Jesus let me learn, More of His holy will discern，
求聖靈教導我去查驗耶穌的旨意。

第三節，More about Jesus in His Word,Holding communion with my Lord；
藉着聖經願我體驗耶穌，聽主聲音與主相交。

研讀聖經和與主親近是一件事情的兩面。這兩件事情同時擺在第三節第一行是有意思的，也就是說，我們與主的交通不是神秘主義（mysticism），是藉着我們在聖經裡面看到祂的榮美，我們又更加地追求進入到與祂的交通。

Hearing His voice in every line, Making each faithful saying mine. （願每一句可靠的聖經都成為我的）每一字句我們都願意領受，更認定祂的應許可靠。

More about Jesus; on His throne, 願我更體驗那位坐在寶座上的耶穌，Riches in glory all His own; 祂所擁有的一切榮耀是何等豐富。

More of His kingdom’s sure increase，我們願看見你的國度愈來愈擴張，More of His coming, Prince of Peace，我們願意多認識這位和平之君，與祂的在來。

所以，每個作者不同，但是他們都會看見耶穌與我們的關係，不只是單面的，是很豐富的。有祂的話，有祂的權柄，祂的榮耀、祂的應許，祂的旨意，這一切都是因為我們在祂裡面。
