was, is, and always will be a humanitarian catastrophe, the timing of the bombing (when Japan was already losing the war) only made it doubly so. While I don't disagree with the decision to drop those bombs, I deeply regret that it was done. The invention and the usage of A-bomb is humanity at its worst. Another triumph of Satan.
