1. the word of the Lord came to me,
2. Son of man, Prophesy against the shepherds of Isreal,
prophesy and say to them, "Woe to the shepherds of Isreal
who only take care of themselves, should not the shepherds take
care of the flock? 3. you eat the curds, clothe yourselves with
wool and slaughter the choice animals. but you don't take care
the flock. 4. you have not strengthened the weak, or healed
the sick or bound up the injured. you have not brought back
strays, and did not search for the lost. you have ruled them
harshly and brutally.

5. so they were scattered because there was no shepherd,
when they were scattered so that they came the food of all
wild animals. 6. they wondered over all the mountains and on
every high hills. they were scattered over all the earth.
there is on one search or look for them.

7. therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord,
8. as surely as i live, declares the Sovereign Lord,
because the shepherds don't take care of the flock, and so
they have been plundered and became food of the wild animals,
because the shepherds did not search for the flock, they cared
for themselves rather than my flock.

9 therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of the lord,
10 this is what the Sovereign says, i am against the shepherds
and hold them accountable for my flock. i will remove them
from tending my sheep, so that they can no longer feed themselves,
i will rescue my flock from their month, so it no longer became
their food.
