多年以前，我剛受浸不久後的一個星期五的晚上，我去教會查經。那一天我到的有些晚，等我吃完飯時餐廳里已只剩我一個，大家都去唱詩了。我見廚房沒人，有一堆還沒洗的盆盆罐罐，就系上圍裙擰開了水龍頭。這時隱隱約約飄來一陣歌聲，像有一隻手在撥動我的心弦，使我淚水涌溢，順着面頰毫無顧忌地滑落。。。顧不得滿臉涕泗橫流，我迅速地衝進聚會的地方，一把揪住最靠門邊的那個人的詩歌本，記下了這首詩歌的名字——《照我本相》。。。
以後每一次在葛理翰布道會最後呼召時聽到這首歌，我依然會熱淚盈眶，想起那個星期五的傍晚，對於我有一位照着我的本相接納我、又應許必改變我的救主耶穌基督，心裡滿懷感恩。。。
