Because if everyone takes the same position, nothing will get done ever.
For example, if all speakers have the same attitude that they will NEVER take initiative to seek a chance to speak, and all hosts have the same attitude, then it is clear that no one will invite anyone, no one will come to any host.
Jesus commanded us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Anyone who does not know how to love oneself is clueless about loving others.
Jesus said, it is more blessed to give than to receive. He did not say it is not a blessing to receive. If all are givers and none is a receiver, all givers will never have a chance.
The reason is very simple, we must be readily open to the possibility of on the receiving end (to be a receiver) before we can be a great giver of blessing. Imagine that we cannot be a receiver of God's (often through fellow human's) blessing, then our vessel is empty, we have nothing to give.
Receive first and then give.
