“but you ought to realize drug R&D is not a soly scientific thing. Consumer rights, legal, finacial considerations etc. make pharma and FDA very cautious about anything new. I am an early discovery scientist but am interested in the entire R&D process. It has been hypothesized that metabolic drugs can be useful for cancer because cancer cells have higher metabolic rate. But so far i don't know of any drug candidates were based on this concept. Early this year, canadian scientists found an old metabolic drug, dichloroacetic acid salt, was effective in cancer animal models and people are selling it on the internet now. But it has already created a lot of contraversy. We had a metabolic drug compound that were efficacious in increasing energy expenditure but showed no effect in cancer cells. There are many unexpected surprises in drug R&D, few of which are pleasant. It takes a long time and lots of resources to validate aby approach, yours included. It is true some patients are killed by drugs, but more are helped by drugs otherwise these drugs should be pulled. So that cannot be the reason to adopt your approach. maybe some desperate patients would like to take your stuff, but it would be very hard for you to get a meaningful set of data to draw any conclusions.”
