第二章

作基督的精兵
1 所以，我兒啊，你應當在基督耶穌的恩典里剛強起來，
2 又應當把你在許多見證人面前從我這裡聽見的，交託給那些又忠心又能夠教導別人的人。
3 你應當和我同受磨難，好像基督耶穌的精兵。
4 當兵的人不讓世務纏身，為要使那招兵的人歡喜。
5 競賽的人若不遵守規則，就不能得冠冕。
6 勞力的農夫理當先嘗果實。
7 你要想想我的話，因為凡事主必給你領悟力。
8 你要記得那從死人中復活的耶穌基督，他是大衛的後裔所生的，這就是我所傳的福音。
9 我為了這福音受了磨難，甚至像犯人一樣被捆綁起來；可是，　神的話卻不被捆綁。
10 因此，我為了選民忍受一切，好叫他們也可以得着在基督耶穌里的救恩，和永遠的榮耀。
11 “我們若與基督同死，就必與他同活；
12 我們若能堅忍，就必與他一同作王；我們若不認他，他必不認我們；
13 我們縱然不信，他仍然是信實的，因為他不能否定自己。”這話是可信的。

作無愧的工人
14 你要在　神面前把這些事提醒眾人，叮囑他們不要作無益的爭辯；這只能敗壞聽見的人。
15 你應當竭力在　神面前作一個蒙稱許、無愧的工人，正確地講解真理的道。
16 總要遠避世俗的空談，因為這些必會引人進到更不敬虔的地步。
17 他們的話好像毒瘤一樣蔓延；他們當中有許米乃和腓理徒。
18 他們偏離了真道，說復活的事已經過去了，於是毀壞了一些人的信心。
19 然而，　神堅固的根基已經立定，上面刻着這樣的印：“主認識屬於他的人”和“凡稱呼主名的人都應當離開不義”。
20 在富貴人的家裡（“富貴人的家裡”原文作“大房子”），不但有金器、銀器，也有木器、瓦器；有貴重的，也有卑賤的。
21 人若自潔，離開卑賤的事，就必作貴重的器皿，成為聖潔，合主使用，預備行各樣的善事。
22 你應當逃避年輕人的私慾，要和那些以清潔的心求告主的人，一同追求公義、信心、愛心、和平。
23 你要拒絕愚蠢無知的問難；你知道這些事會引起爭論。
24 但主的僕人卻不可爭論，總要待人溫和，善於教導，存心忍耐，
25 以溫柔勸導那些對抗的人，或許　神給他們悔改的心，可以認識真理。
26 他們雖然曾經被魔鬼擄去，隨從他的意思而行，或許也能醒悟過來，脫離魔鬼的陷阱。

NIV: 2 Timothy 2:1-26


1 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
3 You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.
5 And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
6 The hard-working farmer must be first to partake of the crops.
7 Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.
8 Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel,
9 for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained.
10 Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11 This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him.
12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.
13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
14 Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers.
15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.
17 And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort,
18 who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some.
19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity."
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.
21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife.
24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient,
25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,
26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
