Masterpiece Poetry by Tang Dynasty Poet Song Zhiwen
"Temple of Hidden Sacred Minds"
On a majestic eagle mountain with imposing cliffs and thick forests,
confines a serene atmosphere of emptiness inside the Holy palace.
There is tower for watching the sunrise over the vast sea horizons,
while the main gate faces squarely to river Qiantang's tidal waters.
Fragrant olive seeds precipitate from the moon into the yard,
while the divine aroma of incense diffuses above the clouds.
Grasp the vines to trend up toward the distant pagoda,
carve out wood containers to remotely tap spring water.
Flowers bloom more vigorously given a thin layer of frost,
leaves have not senesced as ice deposit remains slight.
I was keen to travel wide and far when young to see the wonders,
exploring places to refresh myself and to relieve stress and worries.
I am about to en route to the Heaven Plateau retreat,
just watch me walking pass that legendary stony bridge.
