《英美抒情詩新譯》選載（一）

譯者附記∶

《英美抒情詩新譯》（台灣商務印書館，2012年）一〇八首譯詩在輯錄出版之前，大約有十來首曾經在報刊或網絡發表，編入這本譯詩集時，發表過的幾首譯詩再次作了修改，例如其中幾首標明詞牌譯為詞體的詩。

我在前言《兩頭鸚鵡 一心創造――英詩漢譯漫談》中提到∶梁啓超在章回小說《新中國未來記》（1902年）第四回插入他以曲本體翻譯的擺倫（拜倫）關於希臘的詩，即長詩《渣阿亞》（Giaour，通譯《異教徒》）選節;《端志安》（Don Juan，即《唐•璜》）選節,譯詩標明元曲曲牌「沈醉東風」和「如夢憶桃園」，但並不完全受曲牌定字、定句和平仄的限制。後來以《哀希臘》為題聞名中國的拜倫詩，早期的多家譯文，仍然以梁譯曲本體為佳。基於這樣的考慮，我在標明詞牌以詞體譯詩時，個別地方有平仄不合之處，以免因韻害意。後來，我覺得漢語詞彙，尤其是詩語中的同義詞或近義詞極為豐富，只要用心推敲，字斟句酌，仍然有可能謹守唐宋詩詞格律來譯詩。例如譯愛德華. 托馬斯《七月（水調歌頭）》，最後一句，原譯為「詩情到碧霄」，平仄不合，改為「詩意滿青霄」，就合乎平仄了。下面選載的，是三首初次發表後在《英美抒情詩新譯》中略有改動的定稿。
