racism die hard, especially in america. when i expressed my incredulity over how americans make such a big deal over a black president, the response was -- dude, you are not in canada anymore.

however, the way i see it, societies progress. societal corruption at large (such as racism, tyranny, slavery, religious intolerance etc.) will diminish over time, and will be replaced with personal corruption (drugs, violence, sexual promiscuity and so on). it's the general trend of human society.

therefore, obama will win because racism is improving in general, even if the tide of progress hasn't hit some parts of america yet.
