For we shall be even gods, if we shall deserve to be amongst those of whom he declared, “I have said, you are all gods” (Ps. 82:6) and “God stands in the congregation f the gods” (Ps. 82:1). But this comes of his own grace, not from any property in us, because it is he alone who can make gods.

若我们配成为那些他（神）所谓的‘我曾说，你们是众神（复数，gods）’（诗篇82：6）和‘神站在众神的会众间’（诗篇82：1），我们就能够成为众神（复数，gods）。但这乃是因为祂的恩典，而不是因为在我们里面有任何的特质，因为只有祂，能够造出众神（复数，gods）来。
