保罗说的恰恰就是新旧约上的字句！

哥林多后书 - 第 3 章 第 6 节
他叫我们能承当这新约的执事。不是凭着字句，乃是凭着精意。因为那字句是叫人死，精意是叫人活。（精意或作圣灵）。He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant--not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

保罗这句说的是新约的字句。

罗马书 - 第 7 章 第 6 节
但我们既然在捆我们的律法上死了，现今就脱离了律法，叫我们服事主，要按着心灵的新样，不按着仪文的旧样（心灵或作圣灵）。But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

KJV: But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
