Local Prosecutor to Seek Vick Indictment This Year, Paper Says
A Virginia prosecutor will seek a state indictment against Michael Vick, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback accused of conspiracy to run an interstate dog fighting operation at a home there, the Atlanta Journal- Constitution reported. Surry County, Virginia, Commonwealth Attorney Gerald Poindexter said he expects to seek indictments against Vick as soon as September for dog-fighting and killing dogs, both state felonies, the newspaper reported, citing a conversation with Poindexter. Poindexter said he will proceed with the case because federal prosecutors have located witnesses that can link Vick to
dog fighting, the paper said.
