Does the electric field on the earth generate the earth’s magnetic field? The earth is negatively charged. The atmosphere is positively charged. The earth, with its atmosphere, forms a gigantic electric field. The earth rotates. This should generate a magnetic field. The earth does have a magnetic field. But it is not explained by the earth’s electric field. Is there a problem with such explanation? Your help is greatly appreciated. |
