Chen was the Deputy Director of Center for Nonlinear Studies (CNLS). At Los Alamos, “Center” is different from “Group”. How do I know it? I visited Los Alamos before.

CNLS is a very influential center in Los Alamos, in USA and in the world for nonlinear studies. Becoming a deputy director there is not trivial. When Chen was the deputy, the director (not Darrel Holm) was a high-level bio-scientist who has won almost all honors except for Noble prize.
